Processor ports

The front side of the processor has:

  • 1x power switch. Press once to turn on, press once again to turn off.

  • 1x audio jack for a remote power switch.

  • 2x LED indicators (power and HDD).

The back side of the processor has:

  • 3x RJ-45 ports. This article describes how to configure the network settings of your Pickit system.

  • 1x lock type DC power jack port.

  • Other USB ports, display ports and jacks that are not used by Pickit.

Power input and installation

Apart from the provided power supply, the processor is also compatible with the following options:

  • DIN-Rail power supplies such as this one, for convenient mounting in control panels or electrical cabinets.

  • Direct 12V DC input, so it can be mounted on an Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV).

The processor comes with two sets of brackets offering the possibility to installing it on a wall (below left) or mount it in a rack (1U high, below right). The necessary screws are also included.

The power supply connects to the “DC IN” port on the back side of the processor.

Note

In case of a power failure while the processor is on, it will restart automatically when power is restored. Pickit will start with robot mode enabled, that is, ready to receive robot commands.

Pickit switch

The Pickit processor 3.0a is a compact model with three Ethernet ports. The processor is delivered together with a Pickit switch, which is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) Type 2 switch (also known as POE+, IEEE802.3at standard).

../../../_images/pickit-switch.jpg

This switch is used for connecting multiple components (YOUR PC and CAMERA, including multiple cameras) to a single processor Ethernet port, and for providing PoE for cameras that require it, as shown below.

This switch should only connect to an external computer and Pickit cameras. Connecting other components may compromise its performance.
