Structured light camera cables

The structured light cameras uses two separate cables for power and data. Details of the cable characteristics can be found in the respective datasheets, referenced below.

Structured light camera cables: power supply unit with circular power connector, power extension cable, and data cable with an RJ45 plug on one end and a circular screw connector on the other

Different options are available depending on the application and required length:

  • Power cable. It consists of:

  • Data cable. Based on Ethernet technology, it consists of a single cable of 5m, 10m, or 25m (datasheet).

Cabling diagram: power cable (5m, 10m or 20m extension, 1.2m and 2m supply cables) runs from the wall socket through the power supply to the camera; data cable (5m, 10m or 25m) runs from the camera to the Ethernet port of the Pickit processor; camera-side connectors are screwed tight

Make sure that on the camera side, both power and data connectors are tightly screwed to their plugs. On the Pickit processor side, connect the data cable to the Ethernet port labeled CAMERA.

Connection diagram: robot connects to the ROBOT port and Pickit camera to the CAMERA port of the Pickit processor (required); an external computer on the YOUR PC port runs the web interface and the LAN port links to the Internet for remote service (optional)

For fixed-camera applications, we recommend the 10m power cable extension and the 10m data cable. For robot-mounted camera applications, we recommend the 20m power cable extension and the 25m data cable:

  • It is long enough to be mounted in large industrial robots.

  • It can resist the bending and torsion typical of robot motions.

  • It is compliant with the Electrical Fast Transient (EFT) - IEC/EN61000-4-4 immunity standard.

  • We additionally advise to follow the best practices for routing the cables from the robot base to the camera.
